To visit Florence, walk around the streets of the historical center, interesting and characteristic corners will accompany your stroll. Walk down Via Guelfa then Via degli Alfani, the Opificio delle Pietre Dure is at no. 78. Founded at the end of the 16th century, to manufacture furniture with stone, today it is a museum which houses beautiful inlaid stone and multi-colored marble works.
The hotel is also in the immediate vicinity of the Chiesa San Lorenzo, with its Cappelle Medicee, mausoleum for the Medici family, and Sagrestie (sacristies). The Sagrestia Nuova was designed by Michelangelo and here the artist sculpted the immensely charming allegorical sculptures of Day and Night and Dawn and Dusk.
