The village of Old Hersonisos, located within a small distance to the south was built due to the fear of the pirates, who forced the inhabitants of the village to move in the inland.
Near Old Hersonissos there are two picturesque small villages, Piskopiano and Koutouloufari, overlooking the busy resort of Limin Hersonissos.
Directions from the airport:
From Iraklion, take the New National Road in the direction of Agios Nikolaous. Take the 2nd exit (Kato Gouves), and follow the road round to the right. Stay on the road for about 8km until reaching the Town of Hersonissos. Right before the Taxi stand, make a right (Laiki Bank at corner). Follow the road to the end ( 100 meters). Agrabella is located on the left side of the street.
